Prof. Yimin Chao, Research fellow at the University of East Anglia, an expert in nano-silicon-based anode materials, chief professor of nanoscience, doctoral supervisor, member of the degree committee, director of the Nano Energy Materials Innovation Research Laboratory, fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, secretary-general of the Nano Group of the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK Member of Higher Education Research Association, Chairman of UEA China Strategy Committee. There are 2 postdoctoral fellows, 3 doctoral students, and 10 master students, undergraduate students and other visiting scholars in the nano-silicon-based anode material laboratory led by him. The funds mainly come from foundations and the Royal Society of the European Union and the United Kingdom, and moreover, the British and German business circles have greatly supported the research on silicon-based materials. In the past ten years, the total amount of scientific research funding has exceeded 2 million pounds. So far, more than 90 important papers related to battery anodes have been published in top international journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, Small, Advanced Materials, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, Chemical Communications, Applied Physics Letters, Physical Review B, etc. The current research interests are mainly in the preparation, characterization and application of nano-energy materials, especially nano-silicon-based electrode materials. So far, two international patents have been obtained in the research of nano-silicon-based anode materials.
